Some more SOA Challenges

Hey Everyone,

I decided to play some more over at SOA so for this card that I made I did two challenges in one. Here are the challenges:

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

Taylor has a special sketch that she designed just for the Stampin' Out Alzheimers event in addition to some bonus challenges! For each card you create using this sketch you'll be entered once into the random drawing.

Challenge - 1 entry for creating a card using the sketch
Bonus Challenge - 2 entries for creating a birthday card using the sketch
Triple Bonus Challenge - 3 entries for creating a birthday card using the sketch & Taylored Expressions stamps.

Upload a photo of your creation to the gallery here at the SOA site using the tag "SOATE" (all capital letters). Taylor will use this tag to find the submissions and select a winner, so please be sure to tag your photo correctly! Deadline to enter is Midnight EDT May 31 (you'll have all day on the 31st to keep playing!).

The Second Challenge is Two By Two Card Challenge

Because there are two hostesses, they've chosen two colors for you to work with...pink and brown (along with a neutral of your choice) and you must use two types of embellishments (but no more than two) on your card. For clarification, we would count ribbon as one embellishment and brads as another. That's it...the rest is up to you!

Please use the tag "soatwobytwo" (all lower case, all one word) when uploading your creations to the gallery here at Stamp Out Alzheimers so we can find them and pull them into our Challenge Album. The deadline for uploading is midnight EST on Sunday, May 31st.

So here it is I made this card making sure to follow both rules for the challenge. And then just because I love my Flower Soft so much I added flower soft after submitting my card to the Two-by-Two challenge and then I submited it to Taylors Challenge.

So here they are. Enjoy!!!!

A note for you VSSOA

I've been playing in a challenge or two over at Stampin' Out Alzheimer's site!

A small donation (see link in sidebar) gets you access to this week-long virtual stamping event, which has all sorts of challenges and chances to win some fabulous prizes. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Alzheimer's Association, which is a cause dear to my heart. The association provides valuable information, education and support for Alzheimer's patients and their families, as well as funding research to find a cure for this frightening disease. Jen Tapler founded this event. Her dad has been rapidly progressing through the stages of Alzheimer's, and having watched those stages first-hand with my grandfather, my heart breaks for her and the grandfather this disease is cheating her son out of. So if you have a few dollars to spare, please particpate in this fundraiser. Not only can you win some fabulous prizes, but you can make a DIFFERENCE!

I decided to play with the Verve Sketch Challenge for a chance to win 3 New Release Verve Stamp Sets - Up, Up and Away, Dare to Be You, and Sweet on You. The Rules were to create a project using this sketch and upload to the SOA gallery with the tag "VSSOA".

I always thought it would be cool to use fun flock on an image from the Verve set "Because of you." So I thought this sketch would be the perfect opportunity to give it a try. So here it is. Enjoy!!!

VLVMay01 Thank you

For the week of 5/1 the {twist} over at the verve forum is an inspiration challenge! Amber challenges you to be inspired by something in your home! She doesn't care what it is, could be a painting, your couch, bedspread, a book, ANYTHING! All she asks is that you let us know what you were inspired by! You are free to take a picture of the object and post it here with a link to your card, we'd love to see it!

Keywords for this weeks sketch are VLVMay01 and Verve (if you're using Verve stamps). Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see the Verve stamps being put to good use ALL ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO PLAY!

So here it is, I was inspired by this beautiful Anthurium plant that my boyfriend gave me. I know they are pink but I was inspired by the little thing that comes out of every flower, and I used it to inspire me to use flower soft, cause that it what the little think poking out of the flower reminds me of. It also inspired my to use my Because of you Verve Stamp set.

When I first bought this set, "Because of You," I knew I wanted to use Flower Soft on it, but I hadn't gotten my hands on it yet. So a few weeks ago there was a Stamp convention here in Sacramento, and my goal in going was that I was going to buy Flower Soft. Sure enough one of the booths there was selling Flower Soft, I was supper excited!!! So this was my first attempt at trying it out.

So here is my card. Enjoy!!!

Recipe:

Card Size: 5 x 4 1/2
Stamps: Verve Because of You
Paper: Whisper White, Cream, Purple Cardstock
Ink: Pitch black (Adirondack), ColorBox Classic pigment Cat's Eyes Queue Moss Green

Congrats Graduates

Does anyone else have a hard time making graduation cards? Graduation cards are my least favorite cards to make, I can never get one that I absolutely love, but this time around I think I finally got one. After making three different cards using the same stamps, I went with a super simple and quick card and I think it came out just right, quite elegant in fact. Take a look.

This one was my first attempt.
I saw this card over at Mother's Little Helper and I was inspired to do something along those lines using the TCPTUES59 sketch challenge.

This was my second attempt. Lol I was getting somewhere.

And this was my third and final attempt since it came out quite simple and very nice.

I hope you enjoyed!!!

I had my final exam today, I think I did pretty well. So now it's all about summer vacation and getting back to my card and my scrapbooks, so you'll be seeing a whole lot of me from now until school starts. So stay tuned for some of my creations.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great Friday. I know I will I will be attending my roommates graduation ceremony, I'm so excited for her she is a first generation college graduate, I'm sure her parents are very proud of her. I'll have some picture to share later tomorrow or next week.

Hey everyone,

One last Mother's Day sample card to share with you guys. This was the 4th card that I made before I was able to come up with the perfect Mother's Day card, check this postfor the perfect Mother's Day card.

I pick up this card from Jackie Pedro's blog, she made some great card for the Verve sneak peak and I so happend to want to CASE this card of hers. She does such amazing work!!! So for my card I changed up the colors a bit to be more springy but otherwise its the same layout. I thought it came out nicely but it just wasn't the one.

So this is the last Mother's Day card I will be sharing with you since I had to make 6 to get the perfect one and I've showed you all of them. Now it's back to school. I have this week, which is almost over, except for a test of Thursday night and one early Friday Morning, and then next week which is finals, so this week is the last week of instruction and then I just have one final on Thursday and I'm done and on my way (hopefully) to a summer of card making and getting to my scrapbooks. Lucky me, we will see how well I keep to being creative all summer long. So if I'm not around the rest of this week and next Im studying my you know what off to get straight A's like last semester, so I won't be creating tell later.
