Here are some cards that I made, I was just playing with Fluffles and here is what I came up with... The ornaments and lights on all the cards were given dimension with a glaze pen so they are shinny and when you touch the card it has a little bump where the glaze is on all the oranments.

I couldn't help but fall in love with this card by Jillian over at Ink, Stamp, & Scrap. I had an idea of how I was going to make it work but while at Friday Night Stamping Fun Night I had to ask Jill exactly how she made it. Boy was I off, then she explained and lol that was even more complicated, and she told me to look at it for a while, so I did and I played and pulled and pushed and then I began to understand.

So here is my sample that I will share with you. Enjoy!!!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #67

Hi there,

I thought I would give Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge a try. I did it the same time I did the TECC43 challenge so I used the same paper and stamps and went along with the baby theme again.

I did it late at night and I guess I wasn't really paying much attention cause for this first card I taped the ribbon backwards, I did all the hard work of putting two ribbons together and then I taped them down wrong, I was a bit upset but there was nothing I could really do, it was permanently stuck. Oh well, there is always next time.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Bundled in Love
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack); Aquamarine ColorBox Chalk; Rose Coral ColorBox Chalk
Markers: Copic YR20 Yellowish Shade
Paper: Nana's Nursery Baby Girl, Nana's Nursery Baby Boy,
Accessories: Creme American Craft Premium Ribbon; Buttons; Dimensional Glue Dots, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

To participate in the challenge and be entered in the raffle, make a card with this layout and upload it either to your blog, or to an online gallery.

If you upload your card on SCS, put WSC67 (NO SPACE INBETWEEN WSC AND 67) in the keyword section. That way we can look at all of them at once!

Post a link to your card to this blog entry as a comment. Please add your entry# to it.

Beate will determine the winner with Random.org on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. CST.

Fun Embossing Technique

Scrapnextras featured Technique Tuesday; Fun with Embossing Powder. Well she wasn't joking it really was fun!!! :-D I had a blast, it was cool to see all the colors come out after heating it, it was amazing lol, I could go on for days about how cool it was and how nicely it looks when it's done, beautiful and simple.

I only had a hard time lining up my background stamp because my card was bigger than my background stamp so I had to attempt to line it up again and make it look nice. The first time I failed and then I tried attempting it a different way and I succeeded. Hurray for me, looks great. Thanks Laura for the great Technique!!!

Enjoy!!!!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #43

Last night I decided to play with the TECC43 Sketch Challenge and I made some baby cards.

I have two cousins who just had baby's this last month one a boy and the other a girl and another one of my cousins just announced that she is expecting a baby boy for April so I thought it would be appropriate to make some baby cards using this sketch. Also I have had this set forever, I think it was one of the first sets I bought when I started purchasing from SU and until last night it has never been inked, it's probably been a good year since I got it, so I finally inked it up. About time huh?!!!

The first card I made for a little baby boy, I had to change the sketch from portrait to landscape because it didn't seem to work for the images and sentiment I had, first I changed the sentiment and it still didn't work so I just flipped the card and continued to make it not thinking to go back to my original sentiment from the set, "Welcome Baby," which would have worked better for sending out to my cousins. But it all works out either way.

For this second card I did the same thing, but I thought it would be cute to give the baby feet some dimension so I popped them up with dimension dots.

Now it's your turn to to try the sketch! Taylor will choose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on Taylor's blog during Cupcake Friday. You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? You're welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you'll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you're uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC43 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 43). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so Taylor can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, November 24th at 8am PST to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler.

Warm and Cozy Wishes...

For the Friday Hanna Stamps challenge over on SCS Jannette's challenge was this sketch.

I was inspired by a card I saw at Rubbah Soul called Knit happens and I thought it would work well with Fluffles.

For this first card I made Fluffles sweater with white flock...and then it got a little messy, I was trying to ink the edge of the stamped image and then it accidentally fell into the ink so then I just decided to go with it and just ink the entire image, didn't come out to bad but that wasn't the look I was going for.

For this second image I went and made Fluffles collar white so that the ribbon at the bottom would match his sweater, and he to got a lil messed up when my fingers were all inked up with red ink but that didn't bother me, so I left it.

Friday Night Stamp Night at Jillian's place was soooo much fun!!!! We had a blast!!! We all stamped, ate, and laughed all night long and we got to play with Chloe you adorable new puppy dog, she had just brought it home last night too so we all got to meet her for the first time, she was so sweet!!! But yes we had a great time and I got to use some of Jillian's stamps, and I stamped myself a bunch of images that I don't own so I'm sure when I get a chance I will share all those images with you. Thanks for a fun night Jillian!!!

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by, take care!!!

How many...

does it take?? 4 to be exact...So I'm such a perfectionist it's horrible. It has to be the perfect card or I wont send it out. So my neighbors from back home sent me cards today, their always super early so here I am today making fall/Thanksgiving cards.

I picked up some new American Crafts Premier Ribbon at the local Michaels and I thought I would use the colors to inspire the colors for my card. Also the colors are what I see everyday when I go to school, there are so many trees and so many leaves they are everywhere, but right now they are so beautiful because they are all different colors and they are so vibrant. These past days I've been thinking that I needed to use the colors as an inspiration, so here we are.

I made a wreath using the Martha Stewart Maple Punch and I used glue dot to glue the leaves in a circle and I added the ribbon to the top as the wreath holder.

This wreath idea came from Stephanie at the Paper Garden last year as one of her fall free make-and-takes that I attended. The maple punch that was used for the make-and-take was a little bigger than mine so I think that may have made it easier.

Helpful Hint: To give the wreath a good circular look I traced a nestibility on the base and then just lined up the leaves.

Take 1:

Take 2:

(center of the wreath is to big)

Take 3:

(This one is just a scratch sample, I didn't have an appropriate stamp so I thought I would hand write my sentiment, but that didn't work and then I couldn't turn the paper over because the store label was on the back, oh well)

Take 4:

And after 4 tries it finally comes out well...you would hope so after attempting it 4 time.

Oh and lets not forget the decor on the envelope. I traced a punched out maple leave with my glue pen and sprinkled glitter on it.

I'm super excited tonight is Stamping Fun Night with the gals at Jillian Winter's house, wuuu huuu yea, oh and I almost forgot I'm supposed to bring a desert in case someone doesn't want apple pie, good thing I just remembered, I'll have to go get something!!

I hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!!!

Let it Snow!!!

So I really hate winter, I'm such a summer girl and I love the sun, but right now I'm really feeling winter, probably because it's not really acting like winter here. I hate rain so I don't want it to rain but I want it to be cold so that I can snuggle up by the fireplace and drink some hot chocolate and watch movies, how fun, but winter isn't coming, oh well huh, I'll just pretend it's winter with my cards, lol.

These first two cards I was again inspired by Amy at Prairie Paper & Ink. She made some beautiful Peace and Joy Cards so I thought that I would try out her idea with the supplies that I have.

For this first card the saying is "Let it snow" which you can't really see.

For this second card I decided to go all glittery, love glitter!! I used a technique that Jillian taught some of us at her SU Stamp Club, it's to change your brads either make them glittery or make them soft with flock so I chose to glitter my brads up. The technique is to use your heat tool to heat up the brad, I used a pair of tweezers to hold the brad, heated it then dipped it in SU Heat n Stick Powder, heated it again to make the powder sticky, dip the brad in the glitter and then heated again to seal the glue and glitter. Pretty simple just be careful not to burn yourself, the brad tends to get very hot.

This second cards was inspired to me by Jilian at Ink, Stamp, & Scrap. Her idea was to make her own Designer paper so I thought I would do that with the snowflake stamps that I have and I decided that I wanted to use lots of glitter so I inked the snowflake in two different blues and then on top I used glitter embossing powder to make random glitter snowflakes on top. It came out a little abstract, and at first I didn't like it but the look is growing on me.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of you day!!
