ISS Method Monday - Embossing Digi Images

Happy Holidays!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful time of the year!! I have a little tutorial for you all today. If you have been over to the InStyle Stamps blog you have already seen this post. I was the host for Method Monday and I thought I would do a tutorial on embossing with digital images.

For the longest time I thought I could only emboss with stamps because I had the ink pad but then I discovered the VersaMarker which you can use to emboss. So that is what my tutorial from yesterdays Method Monday over at InStyle Stamps was all about.

Check it out and Enjoy!!!

Embossing with Digital Images

Supplies: VersaMarker, Embossing Powder, Embossing Heat Tool and an image of your choice

I decided that I wanted to emboss Kimi's wings.

1. Use your VersaMarker and outline the area that you want to emboss.

2. After outlining with your VersaMarker, pour a generous amount of Embossing Powder over the area that was outlined.

3. After added the Embossing Powder, shake the excess amount off and clean any that may not be in the location that you want it.

4. After shaking off the excess powder, heat the area with the embossing powder. You will notice as you are heating that the powder with kind of melt, at that point you want to stop heating, to avoid over heating.

How simple is that, and it's always such a great touch!!

Recipe:
Card Size: 5 1/2x 4
Stamps: Kimi by InStyle Stamps, Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Messages sentiment
Paper: DCWV Holiday Stack
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Provo Craft Cuttlebug, Nestibilities, Ribbon, Button, Embroidery Floss, Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Border Punch, SU Large Oval Punch, SU Round Tab Punch, Gold Rhinestones (Michaels)

I hope you enjoyed my simple tutorial!!! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!!

DBDS Snowman

Hey there,

Just a quick card for today!!! I'm officially done with this semester. Hurray for me!!!! That hopefully means more cardmaking time for me or it might mean time away from my craftroom which I hope is not what happens. Sometimes my family likes spending time with me since I'm always away at school. But if I'm lucky I'll pack all the right things to make cards it they decide that they want me to spend time with them.

As for the rest of this month I've made a few cards before the holidays and I've got them all lined up so that I can do last minute shopping and holiday celebrating. I love this season. Christmas is my favorite time of the year!!!

With that I want to share with you a seasonal card with a snowman from Doodle Beans Digital Stamps!! Enjoy!!

South Lake Tahoe Family Trip

Hey there,

Sorry I have been MIA, it will probably be happening more often this month with school coming to an end and with all the holiday events for this month. Today I want to share with you all another event. This weekend my boyfriends family rented a cabin in South Lake Tahoe and I was able to join them despite having a ton of assignments to finish and tests to study for. Lets just say that I forgot about all of that and just relaxed. It was a great time and we were able to see some snow fall but thank goodness the big storm wasn't coming in until today or else we may be been snowed in. Here are a few pics, I didn't get to many but here are a few.

Everyone went snow boarding on this day so a few of us who didn't go stayed behind and walked around the Heavenly Shopping Center. Here is a pic of myself  (laughing way to hard, lol) with Daniel's sister-in-law and his nephew in front a water fountain that was mostly frozen.

Here is a picture of Daniel nephew, he is quite the mover but I was able to get this pic of him.

And lastly a picture of myself with a family friends daughter. We found a great lil area in the snow and made our own trail to slide down with our disks. It was super fun!!!!

Yea and that's it. I wish I had gotten more pics but Daniel wasn't in the mood to take a pic with me and I wanted to play in the snow not take pics lol.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!!

Holiday Family Get Together

Hey there,

I just wanted to share with you all a little something that I did this week. My cousin from the Azores (Portugal) came in on the November 23rd so I planed a big family get together the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Everyone brought something to make the big meal and we all hung out and chatted. We haven't had a big family get together like this in quite some time. It seems that as us kids get older and get married our parents no longer want to get together cause they think all of us getting together just wouldn't work. So I worked some magic and I got everyone together, and it was literally all of my moms family that is in California minus my sister and her husband, who couldn't make it, some cousin in Washington and several others who are in Portugal. So here is a little family picture that we managed to take.

These are all the Freitas cousin (we were waiting for the adult to join us, lol)

And this is the whole Freitas family, 3 generations, we could have had 4 but our grandparents are in Portugal

Then the Monday after Thanksgiving I had to go back to school so I brought my cousin up with me so that she could see Sacramento and so that she could go to school with me and of course do a lot of shopping with me, lol. I was also able to take her to San Francisco to the 7 story mall and I wanted to go to Union Square for a pic with the Heart of San Francisco and their Christmas Tree but when we left Sacramento it was already late, so we didn't get any SF pics. So here are a few pics of the two of us in Sacramento.

Diana and I in Old Sac in front of the Sacramento River and the bridge

Diana and I in front of an old Pirate ship that was docking with grade school kids who had taken a field trip.

And lastly, Diana and I in front of California's State Capital Building and Christmas Tree.
We had a great time!!!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share!!! Have a great day!!!
