Some Sad News

Sorry for being MIA, I made some cards for the Verve release party on Thursday but I was unable to post them and a lot has been happening around here.

I write to you to inform you of some recent bad news. My grandfather past away, at home, among family, yesterday afternoon at the age of 86. He would have been 87 on October 11th. He was very ill. He had a pacemaker, emphysema, alzheimers, parkinson's, and he was on Oxygen. We knew he was very ill and he had lived a long life but we did not expect it to happen as quickly as it did. I recieved a phone call Saturday morning from my brother telling me that if I wanted to see our grandfather alive I needed to make the two hour drive to my grandparents house. They were unsure of how much longer he had. Then a little later as I was traveling, I recieve another call saying that he had passed. No one expected that it would be as quick as it happened. Never the less the family who was near his bedside said it was very peaceful and he just closed his eyes and was taken to a better place.

So this weekend I have spent my time with family and with my grandmother. We do not know when the services are going to be held but we believe sometime later this week, we will know for sure tomorrow morning.

If I am not around this week this is the reason why aswell as the fact that I will be trying to catch up with classes that I may need to miss to attend the services.

He was blessed with long life and a big, supportive family. May avo(gpa) Borges rest in peace and watch over us.

Hey there,

Are you ready for Over the Hump Day? We're half way through the week AND half way through the month, so InStyle Stamps is celebrating with a little candy.

This month we are giving away 3 custom cd cases that contain 5 Journal Cynthia images printed on Neenah paper for you to color and a CD filled with InStyle Stamps Non-Anime Images. That's over 80 images, absolutely free...just for creating a project!!! How great is that!?! Be sure to pop on over to the InStyle Stamps blog for all the details on how you can be entered to win.

On another note today, over at Club Anime we are launching our new images and kit for October. The kit is super cute and it includes some great paper and ribbons, you just have to have them, I know I did!!! We are also launching our new images for October and they are definitely a must have too. They are sooo cute!!!

I got to play with the new image called CC, isn't she cute. She makes me want to go find some monkey bars at some local school and play on them. I loved the monkey bars as a child, I was always playing on them. This image really makes me want to go find some ;-D lol. I paired CC up with some of the paper and ribbon from the October Kit, and then I added some pink rhinestones, that I had, and I typed up a sentiment, "Let's hang out!!!", lol I thought that was pretty clever.

Check it out, CC definitely knows how to have fun on the monkey bars!!! Enjoy!!!!

What are you waiting for, head on over to the Club Anime website and join the club, and get your hands on some of these great goodies, play in our sketch and color challenges, and see what the rest of the DT has in store for you with sneak peaks!!! Click HERE for all the info!!

ISS KIT Shannon

Hey there,

Thanks Goodness It's Friday!!!!! What a week, I must say. Nothing worse than having a week where you're all achy, and sneezy, and sniffly, and you can't stay in bed and rest because you don't want to get behind and it's only the second week of school. Uhhh that's how my week has been, and I am totally looking forward to a relaxing weekend where I can rest up and hopefully get ride of my sniffling and sneezing. I just hate being sick, I get so miserable!! I would totally stay home and rest up but I know that If I miss school for a minor cold it's not worth it and I get behind, so I drag myself out of bed and off to school even though I know I really shouldn't be there. Enough about that huh, how about some good news.

Yeah!!!! So remember how I announced that I was on the InStyle Design Team, well I have a card to share with you today!!! Oh I am so excited to be on this DT, they have some of the cutest images and I have always been a fan of them, who knew that I, me, would be designing for them. It is such an honor and I am so glad to be a part of such a wonderful company and work along side some awesome design team members.

Yup so the other day I went to the mail, and there was a package and sure enough it was some goodies from InStyle, some kits, a welcome package with awesome paper and ribbons and a stamp. I was so excited I rushed in and began creating. And if you know me I don't just make one card I make as many as I can make before I have to go to bed, and sometime, this is really bad, but I get into creating and I forget that I have to use the restroom and I forget that I need to eat, lol that's how into creating I get. I don't know If anyone else gets like this but I think it's kind of silly of me. But yea when it was time for me to go to bed, or more like I noticed it was past my bedtime, lol, I had already created 5 cards using all the different InStyle images and goodies that I had gotten. So Im pretty much ahead of the game, which definitely works for me because with school and everything I definitely don't want to get behind, it could be really bad!!

Ok, ok so enough blabbing, I'm sure you have all had enough!! So here is my card using some of the goodies from my InStyle package. I don't know what the papers name is so bare with me. I used Shannon, she is just too cute isn't she, I wish I was as happy as she is with her ice cream, mmm my fav, and her little doggy. So Cute!!!

Enjoy!!!

WoJ Celebrating Donkey

Hey there,

Here is another birthday card. This one using Whiff of Joys Celebrating Donkey. I just love these little celebrating animals, they are so cute!!!

This time I went for a more feminine card. One of my girlfriends is turning 30 so I wanted to make her a cute little card, but I'm thinking that I need to make another one because this one is not the one for her. I guess I had a different idea in my head when creating it, and it just didn't come out the way I had pictured it for her card. So I will have to give it another try before her Birthday Cocktail party in two weeks. It still came out nicely, but this one is just not for her.

Enjoy!!!!

OCL Relax & Enjoy Lighthouse

Hi there,

I hope everyone is doing well. My first few days of school have been going well. So far I think this semester will be a good one.

A few days ago I told you all that my boyfriend and I were going to take a little trip before school started and for him to relax a little from work, which that didn't work to well, his phone rang all Monday long with clients asking for stuff. But other than that we had a wonderful time. We definitely did some sight seeing and I definitely got a few good pics. Check them out.

Walton Lighthouse in the background

We went out to get a better look at the lighthouse and in the distance we saw dolphins, I was so excited!!!

This last one is definitely my favorite picture. The other pictures are good too but they need some Photoshop help, which just so happens to be one of the classes I'm taking this semester, Digital Photography, so hopefully by the end of the semester I will be able to brighten up the pictures and not make us look so dark. I'll definitely be paying attention in that class, not that I don't normally pay attention or anything ;-P, lol, It will definitely come in handy!!

To go with my Lighthouse pictures, I made a lighthouse card using OCL Coastal Wishes Stamp Set. It goes perfectly with our little getaway. Check it out. Enjoy!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!!!!

RECIPE:
Card Size: 4 x 5 1/2
